Hi everybody!
If you're here you probably just tried one of my two new games, Karma RPG BTG! or Pegs Up BTG!
It is my first foray into the world of mobile games. Games I've been tinkering with when I'm not at my full-time job working on awesome new projects.
A little bit about me? I come from Canada, from a tiny village in Northern BC. The splash screen of my games is my rendition of a nearby mountain I grew up seeing every day. A reminder of where I come from and the dear family/friends I've left back home. Now I live in the mostly hot (hot to a Canadian that is) northbay area an hour away from San Francisco.
In a former life I was a QA tester for a wide range of Visual Concepts sports titles (NBA, College Basketball, Football, Baseball, and Hockey). Then that outfit sadly shutdown as 2K relocated their testing farm to LA. But thankfully not too long after this tiny little studio in Marin announced they were just formed. I took a chance and sent in a resume, even though no positions were officially announced or listed, and there I was working with the core group of folk who delivered one of my favorite games of all time - BioShock. I worked with them for a period of time, ensuring the game met and passed Microsoft and Sony's rigorous standards before the game was commercially available. Then after that we began working on BioShock 2. Working at 2K Marin was a dream job and I am thankful to them for giving me a shot.
So that is my background as a game maker, not really, but a starting point to this little blog post. I spent the better part of my video game career ensuring that people who've paid $20-60 on a game got the best experience possible. With the economy being what it is these days, you can't afford to buy a broken game or get an experience that is hampered by progression stopping bugs.
So if you've played my games, and were directed here because you encountered a bug in the game I made...I profusely apologize in advance. During the development of my games I did thorough testing to ensure each feature and gameplay element worked as intended, and tried my best at ensuring the game was compatible with all assorted devices that I shipped the game on.
If I can I will try and fix the game if you can provide me with some steps on how to recreate the bug on this end.
Fair warning, I'm new to mobile development. I'm still learning the finer points of the platform, learning some new programming languages, and trying to expand my current skillset to deliver even better experiences as I begin work on other gameplay ideas down the road.
So yeah, if you're here I thank you for giving my game a shot. If you're here with questions about why the game isn't working, I hope we can work together to resolve any issues that may crop up.
Thank you for your time,
Roy Russell
